Culture Exchange Programme (CEP) has returned this semester to offer once again an opportunity to both Latvian and foreign students to enjoy themselves while learning more about one another’s native culture. If you’re friendly, active and open-minded, this project is for you!
In series of meetings throughout the semester participants will take part in different activities, group works, discussions, etc. There is going to be 6 official meetings and 2 outdoor activities – a hike or a trip, and an orienteering event in the centre of Riga. In addition, unofficial meetings are planned to promote friendship between participants, such as visiting animal shelter “Ulubele”, attending other events outside the project, and more.
CEP is an interactive project: it is a unique chance to work together with people of different mindsets and mentalities. In this kind of multicultural environment, set by organisers and participants, informal education is encouraged, contributing to one’s intercultural competence and mutual understanding. Participants are also assigned to homework between official meetings. Do not fear: it is not what it sounds like! The purpose of homework is to encourage socialising among participants, work in groups and come to a result together, as a team.
This semester certain dates have been set for the more important meetings and activities:
Check your schedules and mark the dates: the application for CEP is open until the midnight of September 24.
Don’t be afraid to get out of your comfort zone, meet amazing people and share your experience with one another: join CEP!
